Moroccan migrant workers in Gibraltar: 40 years without civil rights

Venue: Unite, Transport House, 128 Theobalds Road, Holborn, London WC1X 8TN

Time: Tuesday 9 June 2009, 6:30 - 8:30

ICTUR is currently working on the problems of discrimination and arbitrary treatment facing Moroccan migrant workers in Gibraltar. The campaign has recently had excellent press coverage, including a full page in the Guardian. Our version of the story is here: Gibraltar.

The leaders of the Gibraltar District of Unite and representatives of the Moroccan Community will be in London in early June for a meeting with the Gibraltar cross-party group of MPs before heading out with ICTUR to the ILO in Geneva to discuss the situation with global union leaders.

During their brief stay in London an evening meeting has been arranged to give the Gibraltarians the opportunity to call for the support of British colleagues.
